State Rep. Kelly Rips U.S. Rep. Grayson's DVD on Live on SKY

The story about Republican State Rep. Kurt Kelly pushing for an official probe into whether Democrat U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson wrongfully masked a re-election campaign ad as a taxpayer-funded, official mailing from Grayson's congressional office first came to light Thursday on 97.3 The SKY's Drive Time Happy Hour.

Kurt Kelly called 97.3 The SKY's Bob Rose Show Friday morning to verify that his campaign was indeed preparing a letter to the House Ethics Committee requesting a determination whether a DVD sent by Grayson to 100,000 homes across his district ran afoul of Congress' franking privilege, which allows incumbents to communicate with constituents via mail at taxpayer expense.

Kelly ripped the mailing live on the SKY during The Bob Rose Show which features various video clips of Grayson's work in Congress, as "little more than an MSNBC audition tape sent out to senior citizens throughout Central Florida" - at a cost of $73,000.

Grayson's office rejected Kelly's claim, saying the DVD was properly vetted and unanimously approved by a six-member House panel that oversees franked communications and includes three Republicans.
