Released Statement From Attorney Kim Picazio

I have reviewed this Wordpress Blog. I have also noted that blogger, Pirate Girl, is displayed in each email displayed. Be advised that Pirate Girl is the same blogger who wormed her way into the good graces of the family of a missing child, Haleigh Cummings, and has made fraudulent statements to prosecutorial authorities in the State of Florida. Only a fraction of Pirate Girl's actions were memorialized in the public records released by the Florida Bar. I have looked through my emails, and oddly do not have record of most displayed here, which is quite telling. 

 

Most internet bloggers have shown keen insight, deep personal conviction, and a genuine passion in their writings on missing children. However, many involved in the Haleigh Cumming's case have unfortunately fallen victim to the wrath of insidious bloggers, doctored emails, and vicious internet schemes. As such, I will be cooperating with the owner of Websleuths, Ms.Tricia Griffin, regarding the proper legal recourse that may be available to her and/or Moderator, Karen Devine, as a result of this libelous blog.
 

Clearly, this writing is a vindictive attempt to defame one of the largest, and most reputable crime discussion boards on the web, Websleuths, and its most well-regarded Moderator. It is my understanding that Karen Devine a/k/a Top Gunner has been a Moderator at Websleuths for many years. Tried and true, I know her to be a fine, upstanding woman, who has earned utmost respect at Websleuths as a no-nonsense Moderator. 

Blogger Pirate Girl had previously been banned from ever posting comments at Websleuths, due to her malicious and fraudulent behavior. Websleuths simply does not permit this type of behavior in their forum. Ms. Devine submitted an executed statement to the Florida Bar, detailing this blogger's previous fraudulent conduct at Websleuths and other web forums. Ergo, do I smell a motive for this particular blog? You bet!

 

This is not news, Haleigh Cummings should be the news. This amateurish stunt it is exactly the type of thing that has turned the national media away from covering the continued disappearance of this missing child. Due to some bloggers' demand for attention and importance, they show us that they are willing to do just about anything to gain notoriety, including betraying the trust of their own friends. I think such behavior is despicable, and speaks loudly about the type of person we're dealing with.
 

In their childish game of "King of the Hill", sweet revenge is what they may seek, but clearly, we should not play along. Disloyalty, malice, and vindictiveness have no place at the center of a missing child's investigation. As an interesting twist on a familiar theme, I say this - this is not the Pirate Girl Show. This is the Haleigh Cummings Show. Let's all turn the channel, and give our undivided attention to the true star, Haleigh Cummings. She is all that matters. Where is Haleigh Cummings?
