Tropical Storm Andrea Headed for Landfall Late Today



TROPICAL STORM ANDREA STRENGTHENED OVERNIGHT; NOW ACCELERATING TOWARD NORTH FLORIDA
• Tropical Storm Warnings now in effect for all of North Florida.
Warnings for inland through Thursday evening, and for Gulf Coastal counties through Friday morning.
• Andrea may have reached peak intensity (currently at 60mph sustained winds), but is not expected to weaken much prior to landfall this evening near or just north of Cedar Key. 
• Greatest impact for inland areas (including Gainesville and Ocala) will be heavy rainfall of up to 5 inches, potential flooding, and isolated tornadoes. Wind gusts during the stronger rain bands could reach 45mph, resulting in minor tree and power line damage.
• Minor storm surge (2 feet or less), coastal flooding, and wind damage is possible along the Nature Coast.

NEAR LATITUDE 27.0N...LONGITUDE 85.9W. THIS WAS ABOUT 360 MILES
SOUTHWEST OF JACKSONVILLE FL. STORM MOTION WAS NNE OR 20 DEGREES
AT 13 MPH. STORM INTENSITY WAS 60 MPH.

.SITUATION OVERVIEW...
TROPICAL STORM ANDREA HAS INTENSIFIED WITH MAXIMUM SUSTAINED
WINDS NOW AT 60 MPH. ANDREA IS EXPECTED TO TRACK NORTHEAST OVER
FAR NORTHERN FLORIDA AND SOUTHEASTERN GEORGIA THROUGH TONIGHT.
THE MOST SIGNIFICANT THREAT IS FOR HEAVY RAINFALL AND ASSOCIATED
FLOODING. ISOLATED TORNADOES WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG WITH TROPICAL
